Our Team

In affiliation with Deakin University’s Cognitive Neuroscience Unit, the Baby Brain research team is passionate about women’s health as they transition into motherhood. We aim to combine our expertise in cognitive neuroscience  and health research with our primary focus in healthy weight maintenance during pregnancy.

Our team is led by Dr. Melissa Hayden and her PhD candidate Sasha Davies.

Both Dr. Hayden and Mrs. Davies share a combined interest in the application of cognitive neuropsychology techniques to the field of health, weight gain, weight loss and weight maintenance, and obesity.

Associated team members also include Professor Helen Skouteris and Dr. Linda Byrne.

Professor Helen Skouteris is a renowned expert in reproductive health and obesity, with a broader research interest in the health and wellbeing of children and parents.

Dr. Linda Byrne’s primary research focus area is cognition, neuropsychiatric disorders, and clinical psychology.
